Aqualud - Le Touquet

Le Touquet’s Aqualud water theme park is situated on the beach and has connecting facilities both outside in the open air and inside under the cover of a huge glass dome. Water temperature is maintained at approx 27 degrees celsius. Under the dome you have access to the giant wave pool, toboggan run, some ‘rocky’ slides, jacuzzis, solarium etc. Outside, in the open air, there are 3 more pools, flumes, rides, the ‘black hole’, the ‘Twister’ or the mouth of a serpent that will happily spit you out at around 40 miles an hour. The park is open most days from April 4 to August 31 and weekends either side of those dates. Entrance for the day is around £15 per person or £55 for a family of 4. Bagatelle amusement Park - near Berck plage

About 15 minutes drive south of Le Touquet on the D940 you will come across this excellent family fun park with over 40 attractions and rides. The park is laid out through woods and over hills and includes some ‘white knuckle’ rides for the more adventurous as well plenty of gentler rides for younger children and more delicate parents. Rides include log flumes, rafting, roller coasters, there is a 360 degree cinema and a small zoo. Open every day in high summer at about £20 a head for the day. Nausicaa

Nausicaa is a huge aquatic centre situated at Boulogne-sur-Mer just 30 minutes north of Le Touquet. One of the most visited attractions in France so well worth a look, home to over 10,000 sea creatures including sharks, skate, sea lions. Information is provided in English so the visit will be both educational and entertaining. A huge open top tank allows visitors to stroke the turbot, cod, dogfish and ray. Best days to visit avoiding the crowds are Wednesdays and Saturdays in season or any day September through March. An average visit lasts around 2 ½ hours and the entrance fee costs between £10-£15 per person. By the way - for lunch try the 'La Matelote' Michelin star restaurant on Boulogne sea front - excellent!
